Isle of Skye

Our tours of Skye depart from the Isle of Skye airport near the town of Broadford. The airfield is a wonderful location with a stunning panorama stretching from the eastern Cuillins across Broadford Bay towards Applecross, Lochcarron and the Kyle of Lochalsh on the mainland - a world class location used for the opening scenes of the 1980 science fiction movie, “Flash Gordon”.

The airfield, built in 1972 by the Corp of Royal Engineers, is just 4 miles to the east of Broadford, the second largest settlement on the Isle of Skye, where the liqueur Drambuie was invented. The Skye Bridge lies 3 miles to the East North East.

All of our Skye Seaplane tours feature the amazing experience of at least one water take-off and landing which occurs in one of the many great locations around the island.

The airfield can be found just off the A87 between the Skye Bridge and the town of Broadford. Click HERE for a map and directions to Broadford Airfield. Please use postcode IV42 8PZ for SAT NAVs.
