Terms and Conditions



1.1.     It is your responsibility to book your tour and fly before your ticket expires. Our staff will not call you to offer tour dates.

1.2.    Tour availability is strictly subject to seat availability at the time of booking.

1.2.1.  Loch Lomond Tours are available most weekdays and weekends throughout the year with up to 12 flights and 108 seats available for booking each day in high season. If you wish to make a booking in high season, particularly at weekends, you may need to book as much as 12 weeks, or more, in advance for your particular date. Please book early.

1.3.     Tickets are valid for one year from the date of purchase. Flights must be booked and flown within the year.

1.4.     “Classic” Tickets are flexible Advanced Purchase tickets and must be bought a minimum of five days (120 hours) in advance of a tour booking.

1.5.     Customers who attempt to book in the final four weeks of their ticket validity period must accept one of the two tours offered in the period before the ticket expires otherwise the ticket will cease to be valid. In addition, customers who attempt to book in the final week of the ticket validity period must accept any tour offered in the period before the ticket ceases to be valid.


2.1.     If we have to cancel a tour for reasons outwith our control, such as adverse weather or a mechanical breakdown, we will do our best to notify you as soon as possible and offer you an alternative date or time.

Loch Lomond Seaplanes understands that customers may be very disappointed if their flight is cancelled, we are too, but in these circumstances, Loch Lomond Seaplanes is unable to reimburse travel, accommodation or any other expenses you may incur in relation to the cancelled tour flight - to avoid disappointment, please bear this in mind if you have included our service in your plans for a very special occasion. Cancellations do occur and we can only accept responsibility for the provision of our seaplane flight and not any arrangements that you have made around the flight.

2.2.     The passenger named on the ticket, e-ticket or Gift Card may contact our reservations department and transfer the ticket to another person and, by their acceptance of that transfer, the recipient accepts these terms and conditions. The transfer is subject to the payment of a fee of £25.

2.3.     You should contact us immediately if you need to change or cancel your booking. In this case, the cancellations terms are as follows:

2.3.1.  "Classic” Ticket: you may cancel or change your booking with no penalty until 3 days (72 hours) before the flight. Less than 3 days (72 hours) notice of a cancellation will incur a charge of 100% of the ticket price.

2.3.2.  "Premium” Ticket: you may cancel or change your booking until 14 days (336 hours) before your tour, however, an administration fee of £25 will be charged for a cancellation. Less than 14 days (336 hours) notice of a cancellation by you will incur a charge of 50% of the tour price. Less than 7 days (168 hours) notice of a cancellation by you will incur a charge of 100% of the tour price. The aforementioned charges relate to each ticket purchased.

2.4.     We strongly recommend that customers take out personal “Missed Event” insurance in case personal circumstances such as travel issues, injury, illness or other unforeseen circumstances preclude their use of their tour ticket in accordance with these terms and conditions.

3.        REFUNDS

3.1.     Loch Lomond Seaplanes will refund on unused tickets (i.e. no flight booking made) within 14 days of purchase.

3.2.     In the event of a tour cancellation for reasons outwith our control, such as the weather or a mechanical breakdown, refunds will be made in accordance with the terms of your ticket as follows:

3.2.1.  "Classic" Ticket: no refund is available and you will need to rebook your tour before the expiry date.

3.2.2. "Premium" Ticket: entitles you, subject to our terms and conditions, to a full monetary refund of the amount paid for each ticket if your tour is cancelled by us or our pilot. If you decide to take this refund the following condition applies: you must notify us in writing before the expiry of the ticket, which is one year from the date of purchase, otherwise a charge of 100% of the ticket price will be incurred. If you decide to rebook these terms and conditions will apply to the new tour date.

3.3.     Refunds are based on the purchase price of a ticket. For example, a complimentary ticket holds no monetary value.

3.4.     If you have purchased a ticket or package pursuant to a “2-for-the-price-of-1” or “buy one get one free” offer, the full price ticket will be treated as having been redeemed first. We will not refund the value of the “free” ticket or package.

3.5.     Even though you are bound by the terms and conditions in this contract, we are not able to provide a refund or exchange if you have purchased your ticket or package from someone other than us.

3.6.     Refund requests must be made in writing. Refunds are always made to the person who purchased the tour. If the tour was originally purchased by credit or debit card, the refund will be credited to the same card within 28 days of receiving the written refund request. If the card has expired you will need to request a refund in writing, quoting details of the new card.

4.        GENERAL

4.1.     If you purchase a tour as a gift you must ensure that your recipient receives these terms and conditions.

4.2.     To cater for short delays customers must allow three hours for their participation in the seaplane tour experience.

4.3.     Children under twelve years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

4.3.1.  Unfortunately, we are unable to carry children under two years of age. In addition, due to the seat belt arrangement in the seaplane we are unable to carry children under the height of one metre.

4.3.2.  Children under 12 years old qualify for our CHILD price, where applicable.

4.4.     Save when specific prior arrangements for guide dogs have been made, animals are not permitted on the flight.

4.5.     Neither smoking nor consumption of alcohol is allowed on board the aircraft.

4.6.     Electronic devices may only be used with the specific prior consent of the Captain.

4.7.     Due to baggage space constraints, only one small piece of hand luggage is permitted, unless by prior agreement. Items we class as dangerous or unacceptable may not be taken on the flight (ask our staff for the current list).

4.8.     We strongly recommend that you telephone us prior to setting out to check the status of the flight.

4.9.     We reserve the right to divert the flight for technical or safety reasons and if we do so, we will make all necessary arrangements for accommodation and/or alternative transport to return you to the start point of your flight.

4.10.     We reserve the right to search you and/or any baggage you may have either before or during the flight.

4.11.     We reserve the right to refuse to carry you and/or any baggage you may have, if in the sole opinion of the Captain of the aircraft, it may endanger, adversely affect the safety or health or materially adversely affect the comfort of other passengers or crew. In addition, if you refuse to submit to a search, if you appear to us to be under twelve years of age and are unaccompanied, if you do not have a valid ticket for the tour or if the ticket is not fully paid we may refuse to carry you and you may forfeit your ticket.

4.12.     You must arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled take-off time of the flight. Safety briefings and passenger boarding commence 20 minutes before the scheduled take-off time. We may depart without you if you fail to arrive 30 minutes before the flight. In this case, a charge of 100% of the ticket price will levied.

4.13.     You must advise us well in advance of the flight of any condition, illness or specific needs you may have that might affect your ability to fly or board the aircraft. Passengers must be able to board the aircraft unaided. Our seaplanes differ greatly from large airliners. If you are in any doubt, please contact our staff for advice. We will do all that we can to accommodate any such condition, illness or need, subject to the practicalities of doing so and also subject to our overriding obligation for the safety of all passengers and crew and the aircraft itself. If you are unable to board the aircraft unaided you will be denied boarding and forfeit your ticket.

4.14     The term "champagne" is used as a generic term for sparkling wine. "Champagne" will be served after flights which depart after midday.

4.15.     Skye Seaplanes is a trading division of Loch Lomond Seaplanes Ltd.

4.16.    As of 7th March 2018,  “Silver” and “Gold” tickets have now been renamed “Classic” and “Premium” – all terms and conditions remain the same.
